About
Harbortown Music came into being in a very organic way.
After getting my feet wet and gaining invaluable experience as the publicist for the me & thee coffeehouse in my hometown of Marblehead, Massachusetts, I moved into the position of booking manager for this venerable and very well-respected coffeehouse. I am only the fourth person to book all the shows in its entire history of over 40 years.
Booking a couple dozen shows a year left me with the bug to do more to promote music. Having learned the business as a venue promoter, I thought I'd take up the challenge of finding venues for various performers. I am an active member of the Boston Area Coffeehouse Association and the North East Regional Folk Alliance. In my spare time, I can be found at local music haunts all over New England.
My day job as a senior editor at a Boston publishing company has also trained me well. The skills that I have learned working with authors: keeping them on track, ensuring that their message gets across in the best possible way, and making professional and personal relationships that have lasted for more than two decades, have been invaluable.
I am happy to promote all of the artists you see on these pages. If you're not familiar with them, take a moment to discover them. If you are familiar with them, that's great. Let's be in touch about having one or all of them at your venue in the near future.
