Pesky J. Nixon (PJN) has always feared small elevators and unintentional feedback (the speaker kind, not the criticism kind). With five years of melding and exploring Americana, Traditional, and Urban Folk influences Pesky J. Nixon has become one of those bands you can’t well shake out of your head. With tunes as catchy as their stage presence is endearing, these boys are winning fans straight up and down the East Coast.
With rich harmonies and musical versatility PJN brings a unique brand of infectious energy and stage banter to every stage they grace. At times putting on a show that borders on brotherly bickering these boys specialize on bringing the audience into their world, songs, and stories.
Together PJN creates a sound as varied as their adopted hometown of Boston – with international influences as strong as the Boston folk scene and the tempered rock beats of the side street “one bulb” venues.
PJN’s long awaited second album Monkey Business & Mislaid Hopes brings the disparate sounds of southern, urban, produced, and informal folk together in a very impressive package.
Their freshman effort Good Grief is available on CD Baby, Amazon.com, and iTunes.
